Ferries and Ferry Companies Operating
(Riga, Riga, Latvia)

Two companies operate ferry service from Riga. DFDS Tor Lines sails to Lübeck and Tallink sails to Stockholm.

DFDS Tor Line

DFDS Tor Line offers freight and passenger service on the North and Baltic Seas. The company has several subsidiaries across Europe, with roots dating back almost 150 years.

The crossing from Riga is operated by a single vessel, and the schedule continues without much variation throughout the year.

Sailings from Riga to Lübeck depart twice a week with a total sailing time of 31 hours.

The Mermaid II handles all services between Riga and Stockholm. Primarily used as a freight vessel, this ship also caters to passengers who are bound between the two ports. The ship can carry between 69 and 110 passengers, along with 170 vehicles. The Vilnius also services this route.

While these ferries are primarily cargo vessels, they are equipped to handle a small number of passengers. Those requiring special attention or accommodation are advised to inquire with DFDS Tor Lines before making the reservation.

Tallink

Tallink operates services to Stockholm in Sweden. The voyages take place every other day with between three and four crossings every week. The total journey time is approximately 17 hours.

The Baltica services this route and has a wide range of luxury onboard facilities such as: a conference centre, casino, children's playroom and disco. A pool and sauna can be found on the first deck. Dining options include a restaurant, buffet, a la carte restaurant, and a pub. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased at several bars and shopping can be found at the Tallink shop on the sixth deck.

This ship was originally built in 1980 and was renovated in 2002. It's divided into ten decks and can accommodate a total of 1550 passengers. Disabled passengers are catered for with adapted toilets and wheelchair-friendly facilities. Any specific inquiries should be directed to Tallink.
